This page lists the various actions that may be executed by a user for a single namespace.

The Backup & Recovery's Namespace page is primarily an informational page, presenting the user with a complete overview of everything related to their namespaces. However, there are some actions that the user can take, which are detailed in the following sections of this page. There are five actions that may be executed for a single namespace

  • Actions - Create Backup and Snapshot

  • Actions - Create Restore

  • Actions - View Backup & Restore summary

  • Actions - View Namespace details

  • Actions - View Target summary

Actions - Create Backup and Snapshot

From the Backup & Recovery's Namespace page:

  1. Identify the listed namespace for which you wish to perform an action.

  2. Click the corresponding Actions button on the right side of the main UI window.

  3. From the menu displayed, select Create Backup.

  4. And, to create a Snapshot you can select Create Snapshot.

  5. This shows the Available Backup plans for selected namespaces. Check if any existing backup plans are available. If you see an existing backup plan that suits, select it and if no backup plan available or you want to create new backup plan then skip to step 6. .

  6. If no existing plan is suitable, select Create New and follow the instructions in . Note that if you create a new backup plan, it may take some time before it becomes active and is able to be selected. Once the new backup plan becomes available, select it and proceed.

  7. Select Next.

  8. In the window displayed, type a meaningful name for your new backup and use the toggle switch to choose between Full backup and Incremental backup. This option will only visible then there a available Backup. This options are not visible Snapshot creation.

  1. Then click Create Backup if you are taking Backup or click on Create Snapshot if you are taking Snapshot.

Actions - Create Restore

From the Backup & Recovery's Namespace page:

  1. Click the corresponding Actions button on the right side of the main UI window. Restore option only visible when there is successful Backup or Snapshot.

  2. From the menu displayed, select Restore.

  3. It initiates a restore based on last successful Backup or Snapshot.

    1. If last successful is Backup, Restore will be initiate for that Backup.

    2. If last successful is Snapshot, Restore will be initiate for that Snapshot.

  4. On click on Restore Create Namespace Restore model get open and for furthere Refer Restoring Backups & Snapshots

Actions - View Backup & Restore summary

From the Backup & Recovery's Namespace page:

  1. Click the corresponding Actions button on the right side of the main UI window.

  2. From the menu displayed, select View Backup & Restore summary, which displays the Monitoring window.

  3. To see more Snapshot detail, click on Details from Snapshot chart section.

  4. To see more Restore detail, click on Details from Restore chart section.

  5. In the Monitoring window, Latest Available Backups and Latest Available Snapshots details are listed in the table.

This is a expand collapse icon to se the Detail of Backup and Snapshot

Click on any restore point in the table for more details, such as: - Restore - View Restores - Status Logs - View Metadata - Delete - View YAML

Actions - View Namespace details

From the Backup & Recovery's Namespace page:

  1. Click the corresponding Actions button on the right side of the main UI window.

This displays whether a namespace is protected or unprotected.

This table lists all associated objects and the count for each. You can select each object to see more details.

On click on that arrow, you see all the avavilable resources in that group. You can see Details of every resources in the selected namespace.

Shows the available GVK resources from the Namespace.

On click on this user redirects to see the available resources of selected Group.

Actions - View Target summary

From the Backup & Recovery's Namespace page:

  1. Click the corresponding Actions button on the right side of the main UI window.

The total space consumed by all selected targets. This includes nfs and object stores or other vendors targets in that particular Namespace.

This table lists the selected targets and displays the space that they each consume. The first two columns are mandatory and the third column (Space Available) can be changed to Vendor or Space Consumed.

This setting icon allow you to select the columns visibility from listing.

Once the backup (/Snapshot) is complete, the STATUS LOG window displays, detailing the status of the backup (/Snapshot) and if there were any errors.

From the Monitoring window, optionally you may view the information provided in the BACKUP and SNAPSHOT creation. To see more Backup detail, click on Details from Backup chart section.

From the above "c" option user redirects to GVK visibility

From the above "k" option user redirects to GVK resources visibility
