The primary objective of this functionality is to provide users with the ability to pause scheduled backups or snapshots for individual backup plans. This ensures that no backups and snapshots are initiated during maintenance or upgrade periods.

  • Navigate to the backup plan section and select the specific backup plan user wish to manage

  • Edit the backup plan, and open the advanced section and locate the Pause Schedule Backups and Snapshot flags. This option is only visible if any schedule policy is added to Snapshot Policies or Backup policies or both

  • Enable the flag to pause all the scheduled backups and snapshots for all the backup plan.

  • To set this click on profile icon from right side upper corner and select Settings icon.

  • From settings page redirect to Trilio Manager page to see the Pause backup/ Snapshot option.

Behaviour when Pause scheduled Backups and Snapshots is enable in Backup plan and Trilio Manager

If the scheduled policy for Backup and Snapshot is configured in a Backup plan and the 'Pause scheduled Backups and Snapshots' flag is enabled, and the user tries to create a Backup or Snapshot from that backup plan, the user will receive a pop-up prompting them to edit the backup plan and disable that flag.

If user clicks on "Edit Backup plan", user will be redirected to edit backup plan form to disable the "Pause scheduled Backups and Snapshots" flag. Once saved user will be redirected back to Create Snapshot or Create Backup page.

From above cases, if the 'Pause scheduled Backups and Snapshots' flag is enabled in Trilio Manager setting and user tries to create Backup or Snapshot, user will get warning as follows.

If user clicks on "Edit Trilio Manager", user will be redirected to edit Trilio Manager setting form to disable the "Pause scheduled Backups and Snapshots" flag. Once saved, user will be redirected to Backup plan listing page as updating the Trilio Manager takes some time.

Once this flag is disabled, user will be able to create Backup and Snapshot.
